5 Journaling Tips to Make Your Writing More Enjoyable

New to journaling? Have no idea where to start? Or maybe you're a pro with lots of notebooks filled with your thoughts and feelings. Journaling can be a great form of self expression and is also an amazing way to boost your mental health.

Remember: "There's no wrong way to journal."

If you're feeling lost or think it may be something fun to try but don't quite know where to start, here are a few things that have helped me:

1) I like to write like I am talking to someone. Sometimes that may mean writing a letter to myself. I know it may sound a little odd, but trust me it is very cathartic. Especially if you don't feel like you have anyone to open up to.

2) I open up my journal with the pretense that no one will ever read it but me. This allows me to express myself more freely. It may also help that my handwriting is so poor that no one else would be able to read it anyways... 😅

3) I write whatever comes to my mind in that moment. There's no pressure. Just an opportunity to get everything that's going on in there on paper.

4) Remember to have fun with it. Journaling is about self expression. You're not writing a bibliography or a novel. You are doing this for you.

5) If you're really feeling spicy, jazz it up by playing some classical music. It's kinda fun to hear the music become more dramatic as your writing progresses.
